Cellphones and Rainforests....

Topher white shares his views, How can a garbaged or wasted cell phone can help saving thousands of acres of rainforests.

Rainforests are been illegally logged down by lumberjacks in large amounts. This can be saved by mere cell phone.

The sounds of the rainforest include the chirps of birds, the buzz of cicadas, and the banter of gibbons. However, in the background is the almost-always present sound of a chainsaw, from illegal loggers.

A cell phone has lot many sensors. It can be programmed to recognize the sounds chainsaws and lumber machines. These sounds when activated or heard by the programmed cell phone sends signals directly to forest rangers via cloud technology and the cutting down can be stopped immediately. In order to prove and test the technology.

Topher white tried out his devices in forests of Indonesia:

On the very next day of his test, the devices captured sounds of chainsaws and the logging was halted immediately. The partners and rangers reported, they never returned.

So if some of the companies and people, along with governments, initialize the task of using the technology developed by Topher White. Millions of hectares of forests can be saved and all harmful effects of deforestation can be terminated permanently.

Rainforests are life of over 50 million people. In addition, home to half of animal and plant species.
